What are the advantages of biodiesel?

Biodiesel provides many interesting benefits. It has physico-chemical characteristics that are quite similar to those of a fossil fuel, with two major ecological advantages: it is renewable and less polluting. It enables reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 45% to 60% for the first generation and 75% to 90% for the second generation, as well as lowering fine particulate emissions. Biodiesel is also easy to use because it does not require any significant modification of existing engines.

Producing biodiesel plays a key role in energy sovereignty as well as food sovereignty, especially for animal nutrition. For example, oilseed meal is a solid residue from the extraction of the oil from the seed.
