CSR: Lesieur's recipe proves its worth
Driven by the raison d’être of Avril, Lesieur is pursuing an ambitious CSR strategy that creates value, making it one of today’s leading companies in terms of food and environmental transition. This year, it received one of the highest ratings from the international organization Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) for its actions in favor of the environment. Focus on the pillars of the “Together to Serve the Earth” action plan.
Climate and biodiversity
The first of these is to take action for the climate, biodiversity and more responsible production. The aim is to reduce direct and indirect emissions by 30% by 2030. In concrete terms, this translates into a range of initiatives: decarbonizing production sites, reducing the impact of transport and packaging… While its bottles are already 100% recycled plastic and fully recyclable, Lesieur is still working to reduce the quantity of plastic used in its containers and improve their recyclability.
Better eating
Its other ambition is to help the French change their eating habits by developing plant-based solutions. As part of this commitment to transparency, the Nutri-Score will continue to be systematically displayed on its packaging. The brand is also committed to continuously improving its recipes wherever possible, and to working on the development of products containing essential nutrients such as Omega 3 and 6.
Local, sustainable supply chains
Keen to work hand in hand with the agricultural world, Lesieur is increasing its sourcing of locally-sourced seeds. In particular, it has supported the development of the French flax industry, with the aim of guaranteeing 100% French origin for all seeds by 2024. At the same time, Lesieur continues to develop more responsible and sustainable practices (regenerative agriculture, low-carbon, etc.) with the help of partner farmers. This is already the case for sunflower and rapeseed crops within the framework of the “Lesieur Huiles Engagées” approach, which enables us to develop more responsible practices and guarantee fair remuneration for farmers.
A collective and inclusive project
The final objective is to involve employees in the quality of a shared project. The company takes care to guarantee the health and safety of its employees. But it also offers its teams the opportunity to take concrete action through community and solidarity projects.
