The Group is built upon and operates according to a unique model: a chain organization, from seed to processed products, in which each activity creates value for every link in the chain.

Avril, at the heart of plant transformation.

At the very beginning, there's the seed.
The seed from oilseeds (such as rapeseed or sunflower).
Grown by our 120,000 partner farmers.
Avril collects and processes these seeds.
Oil and cake, rich in protein.
Avril processes the seed into oil for human consumption or into vegetable protein for the food industry.
Avril transforms the seed into oilcake for animal nutrition, destined for our 26,000 partner farmers.
1.5 litres of oil produced means around 1.9 kg of meal for animal nutrition.
Processing the seeds also produces new energy sources that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as well as biobased ingredients for plant-based chemistry, with a wide range of applications:
- cosmetics
- food
- crop protection
- lubricants, coatings, detergents and resins.

At the same time as investing in the development of responsible local supply chains through Avril's investment and development company, Sofiprotéol, which supports projects all along the value chain, for animal and plant products, from upstream to downstream, by integrating CSR criteria into its performance.

To drive its model, Avril is organized around two complementary activities : the industrial activities focused on four business lines and two incubators, and investment activities, carried by its subsidiary, Sofiprotéol.
